Jake Polverini, Partner

Jake Polverini is a 2006 graduate of West Virginia Northern Community College, 2008 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, and a 2012 graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law.

Born and raised in the Ohio Valley, Jake spent 8 years working in radio as an on-air talent and producer before transitioning fulltime to the practice of law.

In 2012, he received a fellowship from the WV Fund for Law in the Public Interest to begin his legal career with the 1st Judicial Circuit Public Defender Corp. where he gained extensive in court experience and was dubbed with the nickname, “Wolverine.”

He spent three years as an assistant public defender before clerking for the Honorable Jason A. Cuomo, Judge of the 1st Judicial Circuit, who was appointed to the bench in 2015.

When asked about his biggest reason for working as a lawyer Jake replied, “What man is a man who does not make the world better? At Polverini and Norman, I have the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives. People don’t hire a lawyer when everything is going well, they hire a lawyer when they have a problem. I love having the opportunity to help them with that.”

Jake is an avid ice and ball hockey player and is dedicated to helping the community. In 2012, he created Tournament 66, a charity ball hockey and ice hockey tournament that benefits the Mario Lemieux Foundation and he has served as the tournament director since its inception.

Jake’s dogs Maya, an Alaskan Malamute, Remmy, a Blue Heeler/Border Collie mix, and Tanner, a miniature poodle, can frequently be found roaming our office. Pictures of all of our canine visitors can be found on the Polverini and Norman, PLLC Facebook page!
